Mr. Gawronski sent me this photo when I had forwarded him a copy of
results of the research at Bamberg.

He told me that the old Rosenthal house is still standing because th
owner has not enough money to tear it down and build a new one.

Mr. Gawronski confirmed that he will watch for a possible dismantlin
of the house and secure the entrance door for you.

During the 17th and 18th centuries, Kairlindach was

The records of old Dachsbach district had been at the Nuremberg State
Archives and were forwarded to the Bamberg State Archives in 1978 and
1995. They were just put on some shelves in Bamberg and did not get
new numbers so far. An overall cataloguing project of all files of the
former Bayreuth territory is currently being undertaken, and this will
also include the Dachsbach files - some day in the future.

Before this has been completed, the files can only be quoted by their
old title (and I have partially added the old Nuremberg numbers).

The following series are available:

Simon Jacob in Uehlfeld in 1785 (RU 1788 page 58).
Property export tax for Besla, daughter of Jacob Mannlein
in Uehlfeld, who married Joseph Marx in Egenhausen (RD 1791
page 449) .

Jacob Mannlein died on 23 July 1791 and left a widow who
took over protection (RD 1791/92 page 517, RD 1792/93 page
32, RD 1793/94 page 15).

Extant payments of the Jacob Mannlein heirs in Uehlfeld
(RD 1792/93 page 3).

Low Jacob in Uehlfeld obtained a field after the death
of his father Jacob Mannlein (RD 1793/94 page 42).
Sara, the widow of Jacob Mannlein in Uehlfeld, remarried
to Samuel Briihl in Lichtenfels in Bamberg territory and
exported cloths worth 49 fl. and a claim of 160 fl. to her
brother Low Abraham in Bischberg. She did not inherit any-
thing from her deceased husband because she left the
children of this marriage and their small property back
in Uehlfeld (RD 1794/95 page 119) and exported 119 fl.
(ibid, second pagination page 15).

1796 Extant payment by the Jacob Mannlein heirs in Uehlfeld

(real estate revenues from 1786 to 1796 for an estate in
Nackendorf ) could not be collected because of a dispute
with the Bamberg authorities (RD 1796/97 page 152).

1796 Real estate purchase tax reduction is granted for the

orphans of Jacob Mannlein 's widow in Uehlfeld (her hus-
band had died in 1792, the youngest child is 13 years old)
(RD 1796/97 page 202).

The following children can be derived from these findings:

1. Mannlein Jacob, took over a house share in 1772.

2. A daughter m. (around 1780) Mannlein Seeligmann.

3. Simon Jacob, took over a house share in 1785.

4. Salomon Jacob, listed as a brother of Mannlein Jacob in 1786.

5. Besla m. (around 1791) Joseph Marx in Egenhausen.

6. Low Jacob, obtained a field in 1793.

There were other children, the last one born around 1783.

Seeligmann Simon

1748 Seeligmann Simon, son of Simon Seeligmann in Uehlfeld,

was accepted into protection (RD 1748 page 22).
1772 Reception of Mannlein Seligmann (RD 1772 page 166).
1774 Mannlein Seeligmann has inherited the upper half of a house

from his father Seligmann Simon, who left a widow and some

more children (RD 1774 page 166).
1780 The heirs of Seeligmann Simon are: (RD 1780 page 187).

The widow Mergem.

Maennlein Seeligmann in Uehlfeld.

Rebecca, married in Oettingen.

Giitle, lives in Dormitz.

Jacob Seeligmann Levi who purchased the house.

Moyses Seeligmann in Sugenheim.

Bonnla aged 18.

Simon Seeligmann aged 16.
1780 Mergem, the widow of Simon Seeligmann (or rather Seeligmann

Simon) of Uehlfeld, remarried to Gerst Kallmann in Franken-

winheim. Her son Mannlein Seeligmann owes her 180 florins

which remain in town for now (RD 1780 page 181).
1784 Bonla, daughter of Seeligmann Simon at Uehlfeld, married

Mannlein Seeligmann in Miihlhausen, Wiirzburg territory, and

exported 157 fl. (RD 1784 page 255).

This suggests that Seeligmann Simon was married with a daughter of
Mannlein and Bonla. There is no other way to explain why he named
two of his children Mannlein and Bonla/Bohla. It is very evident in
the case of Bonla who was born around 1762, two years after her
grandmother by the same name had died.
